In a remarkable 27-year career together as ZZ TOP, Billy F. Gibbons, Frank Beard and Dusty Hill have sold millions of records and made touring history throughout the world. They have created their own special niche in music with their unique style of blues-based rock 'n' roll and a catalog of now-classic songs, together with unforgettable imagery of beards, cars, girls, Harleys and a keychain. With the recent release of their 12th studio album, Rhythmeen, they remain at rock's forefront. The Blues Brothers-Elwood, Brother Zee and Mighty Mack-are products of their environment - the Illinois rough belt community known as Calumet City. Orphaned and taken in by well-meaning but strict nuns, the boys were raised with a healthy consideration for the plight of the downtrodden. Cold winter nights were made tolerable by jam sessions in the furnace room with Curtis The Custodian, who taught the boys about the roots of all-American music - the blues. Blues became their last name and their mission was further defined with the recruitment of the band whose players represent a fusion of Chicago electrified urban music with the hot horn driven Memphis soul sound. A hit movie, best selling video, five record albums with five million units sold, four music venues, a European tribute stage show and countless imitation acts throughout the world give the Blues Brothers firm standing as one of the leading looms of American culture with almost two decades of satisfying audiences with their special brand of entertainment. Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, and John Goodman make up the contemporary Blues Brothers. The "Godfather of Soul", James Brown, has charted more pop singles than anyone other than Elvis Presley and is one of the most imitated artists of the rock and soul era. The legendary star is a two-time Grammy Award winner and charter member of the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame. The 10-minute show will be broadcast live in the United States by FOX on Sunday, January 26, 1997. The game and show is expected to reach a potential worldwide audience of 800-million viewers in approximately 160 countries.
