Bonn, Germany - July 9, 2003
Markus Krekel:
"I bet little Moritz will hear this story over and over again (my
son, this was the day when...) ;-)
"The concert was the Bonn Museumshalle gig July 9th 2003.
"We brought some placards to the show which read 'MeZZcalero ruleZZ', 'Clive
Davis sucks', 'Take us backstage - the lizzt' and - of course - 'The VoodooglaZZes are here'."
[Here is]
a pic which shows the signs that were custom made for that show
in that Irish Pub in Bonn.
"I'm second from the right with my Voodooglazzezz in stand by position. On my
right is Rolf Kriegers. The guy with the mustache is Nik Rankin who flew over
from England. Then we've got Rolf's wife [Pika], Volker
Friedrich and Rolf's brother [Frank].
"When we held the signs up at the beginning of the
show, all we got was a nod. All we got...? That was already really, really
cool!
"Then, when Billy started talking of their new CD and said something like
'you most probably haven't heard about it' I again came up with the 'MeZZcalero
rules' placard and he
directly reacted, pointed his finger in my direction and said
'well, he heard it' (or something similar, the words escape me....) Man, I
almost wet my pants! That was absolutely freaking crazy....

"PS: Before the boyzz came on stage, I stumbled first over a guy fiddling
with his mp3 recorder then another dude with a full sized video camera. I left
my business card with both of them and proposed to trade...wonder if they'll
ever get in contact.
"The next concert (Erfurt) I saw, I was front row together with fellow
lizzter Frank Braun. They looked at the signs I had prepared, this time not
handwritten but printed out. That was cool, too. Dusty (or was it Billy?)
seemed to take a step forward and leaned over and then looked at me and
grinned."
